| Right now in my neighborhood, regular grade gasoline costs $3.54 per gallon.I?usually spend about fifty bucks a?week just?going to Wal-Mart and to church on Sunday.If I still had to go to work every day, my weekly gas bill would be over a hundred dollars.To you, that may not be much, but to me, that's outrageous.I am not angry with the oil companies who are earning?record profits now.That's their job.A corporation has a moral obligation to earn as much profit as they can for their share-holders.I am?angry with our congress who is doing absolutely nothing to ameliorate this situation.Don't blame it on George Bush or Dick Cheney.Remember, it's the congress that makes our laws; the president has to work with what they hand him.?I hear all the talk about "alternative fuels" but I don't see our "leaders" doing anything productive to develop them.?Buying votes from?rich corporate farmers by paying them millions of our tax dollars for?converting food to ethanol is not productive, in fact it's just the opposite.Did you know that your car - yes, I mean the car you have right now, with a four, six, or eight cylinder internal combustion engine, with only minor modifications?-?will run on hydrogen??Did you also know that hydrogen can be extracted - FREE?-?from seawater?All that is required is a low voltage electrical current?(which can be supplied - FREE?-?by photo-voltaic cells powered by sunlight)?and a means of collecting?and compressing the?hydrogen that results.So why is nobody?doing this now?That's easy to answer; our government won't allow it.?There is no way to?tax?water.?And think of all the people who work in the oil and gasoline production,?refining, and distribution industries who would be out of work?and not paying income and payroll taxes if we no longer needed their product.So, why not hydrogen?Simple.There's no money in it.Please remember that BIG OIL donates lots of money?to our elected "leaders"?in congress, and there is no one lobbying for free energy from hydrogen. |
