| (WARNING: If you?treat God like He is a?religion, and cannot think for yourself without a priest or preacher telling you what to do or think, then you shouldn't read this blog. You will not understand it.Open your mind, and only then should you attempt it.)Are there things that God doesn't know?It has been said that God knows everything and that He knows the end from the beginning. This has made many fall into the fallacy of predestination for every person. In other words, predestination theory says: "Why pray? You are predestined to be saved or damned before you are born.Prayer is therefore pointless."But predestination is a load of freshly squeezed out horse manure.Let me show you why..."For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)
Now, some would say that this is not a clear translation, so I will list another translation that people use for this scripture context, usually when speaking to someone graduating high school or something."For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord."They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
So, looking at this text, God has certain thoughts about us, or plans for us.What do none of the translations of this verse say?None of them replace the word "thoughts" or "plans" with the word "life."Why?Because God has not planned out our life! |
| Because God has not planned out our life!Do you really think God plans the life of an alcoholic to be an alcoholic and die in a horrible alcoholic accident? Was the alcoholic predestined by God to die in this way?Or, more reasonably, did the alcoholic CHOOSE to drink too many before getting on the road?Did he CHOOSE to turn to the bottle for his answers?Yes, he did.Was this God's plan?"They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."Nope.Wasn't God's plan at all.Looks like man, because of free will, can choose to reject God's plan for their own.Of course, then you always hear the tired old arguement: "Well, God still knew that person would become an alcoholic, so it was still a form of predestination."Well, after reading the Bible I have to say: WRONG!!!Even God doesn't know the decisions that we will make!(All the religious folks are unsheathing their swords to come after me now!LOL!)Hear me out.Have you never read about Job?"And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? |
