| Okay....the new PC is working like a treat. The new widescreen LCD monitor is pretty awesome too. It?s kinda sad to see my old PC and monitor sitting in the corner of my study.Still, it?s probably gonna go to a good home.I can?t bring myself to throw it all out.I was riding my bike around Werribee today as it?s the annual Weerama festival, and noticed a lot of old PCs and monitors sitting outside the front of peoples homes ready to be picked up tomorrow for the hard rubbish collection.Hopefully there?s a computer heaven somewhere, like something out of Tron.Yeah, that?d be cool. When I was riding down the main street watching the festival celebrations, I heard a familiar song being played in the distance, The Real Thing by Russell Morris which is pretty much the Australian equivalent of Hey Jude and Stairway To Heaven. It wasn?t until I got closer that I realised it was being performed by Russell Morris himself, along with Daryl Cotton (who was in Zoot with Rick Springfield in the late 1960s), Jim Keyes (lead singer with The Masters Apprentices) and a backing band.It was a great performance, especially given that they were performing in the open in extreme heat.It was a shame that the crowd wasn?t larger but they didn?t seem to care...they looked like they were having a ball and they sounded brilliant. It was great to get the opportunity to see that classic song being performed live.Nothing much on for the rest of the day except lay around under the ceiling fan. It?s a stinking hot day, the kind that just saps all the energy out of you until the temperature starts to drop a little.I think I shall take my leave of my beloved internet, flop down on the couch and drink copious amounts of iced tea.Adios amigos!P.S. You?ve undoubtedly noticed that I?ve changed my the internet layout.I found?bunch of cool ones last night, all tv and movie related, that I?m gonna be using over the next few weeks...hope you like ?em! |
