| Okay, time now for a serious discussion about something really, really, really important:??American Idol.?What??Have I gone daft??Nope.Last night's "Idol Gives Back" show was true self-promotion for the producers.??Couldn't help but notice the huge plug they gave for "So You?Think You Can Dance" show which is to begin next week, I think.Miley Cyrus??I can't believe she is even famous!??It's the first, and with any luck the last, time I've ever heard/seen her sing.??Frankly, I think my dog's howling is better or practically any kid I've seen on Star Search.?What is the BIG deal??If her dad wasn't Billy Ray, just a huge country star (right!), where would she be??McDonalds!Now, to the point.?The fact that Kristi Lee is still there when the thunder from Down Under is gone is criminal!?A felony, at least.?Worse is the fact that THE best female singer in the whole smarmy mess that is Idol, namely Carly Smithson, was in the bottom three (2nd time), which speaks loudly the fact that David Archuletta will win, even though he is just awight dawg,?because tweenagers rule the world of cell phones.?They alone determine who will ultimately win.?Nevermind the fact that every song the 17-year-old sings sounds exactly the same.??Imagine a whole CD of Archuletta songs.??The word "straitjacket" comes to mind.?Please, parents, hide those tweeners cell phones before it's too late!This is, of course, the same reason the always perfect Melinda Doolittle did not win Idol last season.?Tweeners, you suck!??Now, I see history repeating itself, much to the detriment of AI.?You see, we non-tweeners just don't believe in you anymore, Idol.??Amen. |
