| Started the second week of induction/training and it was a good day.It was the first time I'd been to the office I'll be working in and it's real state of the art stuff.They have a large balcony seven stories up that is going to be turned into a little garden paradise by Jamie Durie as well as several 'break out' areas with plush chairs and modern design.It makes a nice change after years of working in very blah offices that had all the atmosphere of Domestos.Haven't got a desk yet but I'm sure I'll settle in well enough when they allocate me to a team.The people are very friendly and don't think twice about chatting even though they have no idea who we are yet.Nice.Didn't do much this weekend apart from buy an iron.I like ironing (no I'm not bullshitting you) so it's important I have a good one.I bought one Friday night that turned out to be the Lex Luthor of irons.Did all the stuff it said in the instructions (who would have thought the day would come when irons need instructions?)and all the water I put in it just poured out of the steam holes.Needless to say that iron no longer resides in my home.I got a much better one on Saturday thanks to my friend Lisa who drove me to a department store to buy one.Thank goodness for Mothers Day specials!Spent most of yesterday watching the latest episodes of Lost, Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who.All hugely enjoyable.Hopefully I'll motivate myself enough this coming weekend to see Iron Man as I've read lotsa good stuff about it.I haven't been to the movies on my own for a long time so I'll just have to get my arse into gear and go.Anyway that's all I have to share for now.Bye for now...and hey, let's be careful out there! |
