| After today... wow.This morning was... let's not dwell on that.The reading went so much better than I thought it would.?I was seriously scared about the first play-- about the lack of direction and the 87 pages and ther refusal to listen and ahhhh!!?When I got to the school (uber early), they were rehersing.?But when it was read, it wasn't that bad.?Really.Then came mine.?Rachel told me to calm down, but seriously how can you not be nervious at a time like this??Will they like it??Will they laugh??Will I throw up??I already knew a bunch of things I needed to fix (like the wallet thing) but didn't have time to deal with.?So I was shy and hiding and scared......and it was wonderful!?Absolutly stunningly wonderful!Well, I might be exagerating.?When it came time for the talkback, we had to really force comments out.?I got some great notes on what worked, then a ton of silence, then some notes (specifically the pacing at the end).But during the show...10 minutes in, all my worries vanished.?5 later, they came back.?Shortly after, I was okay.?Then I was worried everyone thought it would be too long.?I thought people would fall asleep.?But it was okay.?Things that really made me happy were hearing Mel in the corner with her short happy laughs, Rachel laughing at jokes she's heard before, Mark just loving it, and the fact that Angela and Tyler showed up at all and loved it!?I shouldn't say this but... someone told me "you made Darrel look like the red-headed stepchild afterwards."?How awesome is that?!Afterward, it was lunch with Angela.?We had an amazing time talking and hunting down a copy of Oscar Wao.?I'm going to miss her and the gang.Dinner with the Medoffs and the class = pure ecstasy.?Sure, I broke my Passover, but I got really close this time.?I tried.?But alas, it was a very special occasion.?I don't remember the last time I was with a group like that at a dinner or anything really.?The conversations that went on... and of course, the dancing!?If I don't lose them, I'm going to wear these flags in my hair all week.So...I'm sorry for all the negative stuff that happened in my previous posts.?This has been the first real pure positive day in the longest time.?I only wish I had my camera.Tomorrow is my test in Stagecraft and the first day of tech for Kitamura.?I need to start making serious decisions about my future really soon.?But for now, I'm happy. |
