That was scary
So two weeks into rehearsal and I lose Hawkeye.?But that's cool, what is scary to other folks only makes me wet my diapers thoroughly.?I am blessed in that Clayton Habecker was brave enough to transition from a role he was already practically off-book for, into a new role, and he is the new Hawkeye.?Clayton is such a cool dude anyway, and we haven't worked heavily together in almost a year, since THE UNDERPANTS.?He had a supporting role as one of the villains, the Forest Gump of the Chinese Underworld, basically, in SUPERMAN last summer.?He did ANYTHING GOES, which I did not direct, but it was a small role also.?And he was not in THE HAIRY APE, due to something called 'the real world' needing his attention or something.?But he agreed to transition from playing Frank Burns to Hawkeye.?So yes, Clayton can be both an a**hole and a good guy with the flip of a coin, thus proving my theory that a really good actor doesn't have a core personality, and can transform themselves into whatever the people around them are demanding from them that day.?Or is that just me? I still don't have?a Ho, though.?A Ho-Jon, I should say, which is strange for a character name, even a Korean one, if you break it down into English.?Ho is slang for whore, or prostitute.?A 'john' is a man who pays for the services of a prostitute.?So is a Ho-Jon a guy who pays himself to make sweet love to himself??Hmmm.?I should get my mind of out Freud's underwear drawer.?Heh.?Drawers.?I need to focus on my duty.?Heh.?"Duty."?13 rehearsals to go, and still I haven't freaked out yet because we have yet to have all cast members present at the same rehearsal.?I must be mellowing with age.?Or heavily medicated.?Or at least as an actor I believe 100% that I have been medicated, and that belief provides me that medication without having to go to the doctor or the pharmacy, and does not involve insurance or money out of pocket, with the same theoretical benefits.I need to get a new imaginary doctor, these meds aren't working.
