| I suppose I could go shopping for necessary things (like socks) more often...but then, who would think of socks changing fashion or going out of style?A creature of habit (that most call OCD), I have worn the same type of socks for 20 years.Yes, I wear scrunch socks.They have been available since the 80?s and I saw no reason why this would ever change.I WAS WRONG!What the hell?I go to Wal-Mart, which I hate, to stock up on some new socks because mine were getting a little thin on the bottom and I wanted to replace them before my toes started giving a peep show.I was shocked!I was stunned!NO SCRUNCH SOCKS!It seems they don?t carry them anymore because they are out of style!(So must every color but white and black...because that?s all I could find.)How can a SOCK go out of style?Oh, well...there?s always ordering what I want on the internet.WRONG AGAIN!Try looking up Scruch Socks on google and you get all kinds of "Why I?m stuck in the 80?s" and ankle to hip legwarmers.Ok, so I just look up ?socks?.By this time, I?m not particularly picky.WTF??!!??To buy socks online, you get 1 pair for $5, then have to pay shipping on top of that.If I want a package of 6, they come in only one color: White.Well, hell...I can go to Wally-World for that!So I begin a mission...I hit every department store I can think of that isn?t in a mall (see reference to OCD above...I don?t do malls), and nobody has scrunch socks.Nobody even has socks in different colors.What I found was white, black, brown and pink.No red, no blue, no green, no purple.How can I coordinate with that???Ok...I give up and spend $14 on a package of 6 multi-shades of brown crew socks.Not only am I unhappy with the colors, the style (they think scrunch socks are out of style!Crew has been around forever!), and the fact they have gold toes...THEY DON?T FIT!Too short between toe and heel, causing the socks to ride down as I walk until they are wadded in a bunch at my instep.This sucks.Am I asking too much of the fashion industry to leave some things alone?Is anyone else nutty enough to be bothered by these types of issues?Is there anywhere in Colorado Springs where a person can buy a decent pair of socks???With cold feet, I bid you goodevening...and thanks for letting me rant.(Ok...and now the darn the internet has an error and won?t let me post any music.Not seeming to be my day.) |
