REVELATIONS trip to Seattle and Portland, OR
|
| Well the trip to Seattle was an amazing experience to fuel me for another year until I attend another CA.org/MB workshop.?It was serious inspirational fuel for the soul (if you believe in that sort of thing) and I met a lot of wonderful people.?At the end of the fourth day I was wishing it was the first all over again.?I ended up seeing the fresh markets, the fishes, the Seattle Art Museum, most of the down town area, hung out with the nice guys at Utilikilt (all men should wear one of those things at least once in their lifetime, imho), and stumbled on a?few jewels inbetween like the First Thrusday open studio art crawl, the best clam chowder evar at a local Irish pub, some great local beers, some tasty wine and sushi with new friends, and of course the best fucking art workshop known to man on the piers of Seattle.?On the way home I was detoured to Portland, Oregon, to hang out with Jerky and his injured mom.?It was a cool experience and the rain was actually pretty refreshing...?the amount of growth and green made me sad that I live in such a barren concrete wasteland.?We went to a lot of really unique places and explored most of the city...?I had some of the best food I've ever had in my life consistently everywhere we went.?The Pacific Northwest is amazing and I think I have to live there now haha :)This year is going to be pretty crazy with an intro like this.?I got some good portfolio crits and I am ready to tackle a new realm of learning and personal growth.?I have a lot of work ahead of me.?I think that's a good thing.?I have a new show coming up in March, I'm relocating my studio, and most of my roomies are relocating to Oregon.?Change is inevitable...I already miss my new buddies.?See you next year ...?(yes that is a threat) !Jska |
