| Its interesting how time passes.?Some of us move with time.?Others watch it pass us by.?I got the computer today just like whenever I get on.?I checked my messages and I got a message from my friend Alexandra.?I?ve known here since I first started going to Lakes back in the fall of 2001.?So pretty much we have watched each other grow up.?Well, reading thru her message it occured to me, not only how long we?ve known each other but where we are now and what life has brought us.?She?s a mother of a beautiful baby boy.?She lives with her boyfriend (the baby?s daddy for u simple people out there) in North Carolina.?I?m so proud of her.?She?s been like a sister to me.
Now I started thinking deeper.?Looking at my friends thru this life that is Emilianos.?Some bring tears of sorrow.?Others tears of joy.?When I left all I heard were stories of how nothing will have changed back home.?Your friends will still be doing the same thing they were doin when you left.?Some will not be there anymore.?They will either be dead or locked up.?Some will move on with their life and grow.?I thought about that a lot while I was in bootcamp.?I remember the day I got my eagle globe and anchor, We (all the new marines) were given base liberty for 5 hours.?So I went to the phone and computer place.?I got on and the first thing I see is R.I.P. Scoot.?In my mind I start thinking, "Scoot is dead.........Naw"?So I hit up a few friends and sure enough.?He was shot and killed.?"Wow," I thought.?My grandfather, mother, and Drill Instructor were all right.?Sad to know that history does repeat itself.?Now to skip ahead a lil bit.?Well I came home a couple times.?Each time I saw people that I havent seen in years.?What I saw was sad.?One was strung out on pills.?Others on Coke.?Too Too bad.?But I dont want to focus on the negative.?Its too easy to do that.??A few friends decided enough was enough.?Some joined the military.?Others went off to college.??Fernando joined the Air Force.?When he told me I thought, "Ese Lil Shadow is gonna be an Airman."?I?m so proud of him.?Gaby joined the Marine Corps.?She is currently in bootcamp.?I KNOW U CAN DO IT!?I?m glad she is doing something with herself.?Junius is working on his music.?He is a musical genius.?After one session with him it is easy to see what gifts God has given him.?He also is in line to go to Howard University.?I?m proud of him.I have to go for now.?I need to hit the gym.To Be Concluded..... |
