| Hello everyone, Number 1578 here. Many of you know by now that I am participating in this years Aids LifeCycle. If you did not, we should catch up soon!(Thanks for the reminder Mon!!!)I signed up back in August and training is going strong. From June 1-7, 2008, I am?bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle.It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise much needed funds for people living with HIV and AIDS.I am doing this for a few reasons close to my heart.Last August, I contacted a friend who was a breast cancer survivor in an attempt to get her blessing to do an event in her name. She asked me to join her in the Aids ride to raise money for this often overlooked foundation.I immediately accepted and signed up that day.She is turning 50 this year and is an amazingly strong woman who is a survivor and a giver.A true giver.?
I have traditionally participated in the smaller scale event of the Aids walk annually in San Francisco either with companies or friends. And I recently (on December 2nd) completed my first Half Marathon for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.I truly respect this foundation and all it provides.?
The other reason this event is close to my heart... when?I was in high school I had a BEST friend.(I?prefer not to mention his name). We were INSEPERABLE.Three years after graduation he started seriously dating someone who was HIV positive.I did not hear from him for?7 years after that.Last June, I received a message from him but all his message said was."I miss you, I love you, and I have had a lot on my mind... for the past 7 years."He still has not called me/or answered my calls and my heart aches for him.At least I know he is still alive but I?can only imagine what had transpired over the past 7 years.?Yes training is difficult but I feel very blessed that I am capable and SO willing to put my all into such an amazing cause.I need your support.I am TERRIBLE at asking for things. But this is a cause I am putting my pride aside for and asking you, from the bottom of?my heart, to support me in.The AIDS LifeCycle is a wonderful event supporting the SFAF (San Francisco AIDS Foundation). Please be as generous as you can and if possible, please forward this to everyone you know.Perhaps some of your companies do matching donations, therefore doubling any contribution you make.Thank you ALL for your time in reading this! Here is?the direct link to my donation page. You can send donations to my house also if that works better for you.Feel free to call me anytime!I have a goal of raising $2,500 and I KNOW, with your help; I can meet and possibly surpass this number.?
