On Evolution: A Modest Proposal. |
| We, as humans, have evolved to such an advanced state of being, beyond the grunting and growling of our cave dwelling ancestors. As the internet has become a more integral part of our lives, we have all become something less, we have given up evolution, we no longer expose ourselves to outside bacteria and other such natural obstacles as we would have otherwise and we most certainly don't have to use our incredible intellect to survive a world that is no longer as harsh. We do, however, have the great acuity of our minds which has nullified natural selection all together.Take, for instance, the great Stephen Hawking, a brilliant physicist who?has contributed much to the areas of Astronomy and Quantum?Mechanics, if natural selection had taken his life through his?ALS he would never have had the chance to ponder the nature of the universe and tell us what he has learned. It is by removing natural selection that people without the means to survive normally (or otherwise weak people) would never have the means to further mankinds quest for knowledge. There is always a downside to an upside, though. The first problem being that although we let intelligent people live we must also let the feebleminded live, this presents many problems especially in the areas of democracy and religion. The second being overpopulation, seeing as though we seem to have trouble taking care of poverty in America, let alone the rest of the world, we quite simply do not have the resources to care for everyone.I do have a solution for the latter, though, I call it Mark's Theory, Allow me to explain it.Overpopulation is caused by there being too many children in the world and not enough food to feed them, therefore, I propose that the because there are children in abundance all over the world and to take away from the population would mean more food for everyone it is only obvious that the anwser is to?eat babies. |
