| Well, I started on Zyban today.Those are the pills that will help me kick my cigarette habit.The first week that you're on them, you smoke as much as your normally do...although my doctor told me I could TRY to cut back a little during that time.I doubt that I will.If I could've cut back in the first place...I wouldn't be smoking as much as I do now and I wouldn't have this problem.Anyway, I smoke a pack a day and now I'm on my final SEVEN packs.One week to go and I will be smoke free.I plan to have my last cigarette at midnight on Thursday.I'll go to bed once I'm done with it and I'll wake up on Friday as a non-smoker.I've talked about quitting in the past and, to be honest with you, it never happened because I just didn't want to quit.But, I figured it was about time.My recent health issues are part of the reason I decided to give 'em up.If I'm gonna brag about it...it's best to kick the habit.You see, when I first went to the doctor, of course, I didn't know what was wrong with me. While I was waiting to find out what the problem was, I thought about this, that and the other thing.I mean, there's a lot that could've been wrong, especially with my cigarette habit.Well, it was during this time that my wife said to me, "Did you think you were gonna smoke a pack a day for 14 years and get away with it?"I was like, "Uh...yeah!"After I went to the doctor and found out that there was nothing seriously wrong with me, I got in the car, turned to my wife and said, "I guess I got away with it, huh?"So, I figure it's best not to push it.I look at it this way.I spent about $28 a week for cigarettes.Doesn't seem like a lot. |
| Doesn't seem like a lot.But, it does add up and...do the math...it's kind of expensive.That's money that could be put to better use.Hell, my cigarette habit is more than my monthly phone bill.That's kind of bad, huh?I can just put that money on the phone bill every month and that's one less bill that I have to worry about.It all works out in the end.Now, to change the subject....for those of you who are interested in some of the music that I post...I have a real treat for you.I posted a rare live recording on my blog.I don't think a lot of people have heard these tunes...the recording...not the songs themselves.It's a New Jersey band from the 80's.So, be sure to check it out.Here's the link in case you don't have it.http://spotlightmusic.blogspot.comAnother thing...I don't know how many of you are into the games that they have here on the internet.But, at the time of this post, I have the high score on Chicken Invaders 2 and 3.It's a fun game...one that I've become slightly obsessed with.Go check it out...see if you can beat my scores.Well, that's about all for now.I've got A LOT I need to get done.I'm kind of behind at the moment.But, by Sunday evening, I should be all caught up.~p~ |
