| AND I DO MEAN THAT IN A FANTASTIC WAY!?The new movie, Ironman, came out on Friday.?We saw the movie tonight *saturday* and wow!?I'm not even an action/comic book/movie kind of person and I found humor....excitement....action...a bit of a love story going on and never a dull moment all wrapped up in one!Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is the CEO of Stark Industries which produces advance weapon systems for the U.S. military.Tony's father started the company after WWII, and after his death Tony inherited the company, worth billions.Tony lives the life as a hard drinking, rich playboy ladies man, but he is also a genius who has invented many high-tech items for the company.Tony flies to Afghanistan to demonstrate a new weapons test to the United States Air Force.On his way back to his plane, his convoy is attacked by terrorists, and Tony is wounded by a Stark Industries missile.Tony is captured and held hostage in a cave with Yinsen (Shaun Toub), a doctor who saves his life....with a battery powered "heart".?A little far fetched and pretty ingenious for being held hostage in?a deep cave.???The terrorists force Tony and Yinsen to reproduce the new destructive Jericho missile Tony was demonstrating from parts of other weapons, but ?Tony decides to build a suit of armor with Yinsen's help, instead.?Sadly,?Yinsin doesn't get out alive but he does a heroic thing by helping Tony get out alive.? |
| Yinsin doesn't get out alive but he does a heroic thing by helping Tony get out alive.??The suit gives Tony the strength and protection to be able to escape the terrorists and his military buddies find him and bring him back to?America where Tony decides?that his weapons building is killing soldiers instead of protecting them and also falling into the hands of terrorists...thanks to his supposed partner who basically sells him out to the terrorists.??Tony ?builds a better suit of armor (quite glamorous too) ?which gives him superhuman strength with the ability to fly.?You'll find lots of humor with regards to his building this cool new suit!??With the help of his personal assistant Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow)(who has the hots for him in a sublte way) ?and Air Force Lieut.Colonel Jim Rhodes (whom I can assure you will become Tony's?iron clad partner in the next Iron Man...PART DUCE)?(Terrence Howard),?Tony vows to protect the world as Iron Man and causes a frenzy when he doesn't "read the cards" like he's told to.Robert Downey, Jr.?is excellent as Iron man and really gave a terrific performance.?I even thought Gwyneth Paltrow did an excellent job!?All in all,?everyone did this movie justice and it came together nicely.?We look forward in seeing part 2!!!?Kudos, Robert! |
