| (After I spent 3 hours on this blog, these videos do not work. But you can get the url from most of them.)"Have you heard"Well?Have you?Because lately I have been talking a lot lately about a list of songs I wanted to make that would consist of my favorite songs ever.I know what your saying."Perry, you already made that list."Yeah yeah I got ya.But that list had 3 different bands on it.(Green Day, Blink 182, and The Killers) This list won't consist of any of those bands or any other bands affiliated with their artist in any way.Hopefully you won't know half the songs on this list and I will be able to expose you to some new songs. However, for those of you into death, carnage, and its theme music, you won't be please. This list has a lot of more sweet and/or slow songs. Finally the list will have 24 songs on it.Yeah, no top ten here.I'm breaking the mold. Why not 25?Why not a multiple of 5?Whats the importance of 24?Cause I damn said so."Lets start at 24.."24."Where does the good go" by Tegan & Sara-Im not really sure what this song is about.I believe it is about self doubt and the need of approval.Either way, it has a lot of meaning and emotion like most Tegan & Sara songs. My favorite song by the twins and it gives me a good feeling and helps you understand the world a little bit.23."Run" by Snow Patrol.-This song almost did not make the list and barely beat out Tegan & Sara.It is a lot like 24 it is very dark and eerie. However at the same time is a very poetic love song.Like most Snow Patrol songs, it can be slow and boring but it dominated the vh1 top 20 countdown which is where I heard it first freshman year. This song means a lot of things to me.22."You give love a bad name" by Blake Lewis, not Bon Jovi.-This is the only song to grace the list that has not been recorded onto a populaur record.Because I only like the live American Idol performance.Blake Lewis is a beats and an amazing performer. He did things to this song that no one else could do and I believe made it a lot better than the original.21."Don't go Away" by Oasis-A controversial 21.I second guessed even putting this song on the list.I don't like the song very much anymore. However, more than a year It was the only thing I listened to and it held a lot of meaning. The song reminds me of a defining and sad point in my high school years.20."Shaken" by Rooney-Sorry about the video, it was the best I could find on youtube.Compared to the other songs on this list I have'nt listened to this song that many times.all those listens were concentrated at the end of freshman year and periodically since then.It reminds me of a specific time and experience in my life and it is very catchy and up beat.19."Lets go Home" by Hot Rod Circuit(skip 2 minutes into the video)-No other song reminds me more of the summer of 2007.Besides that the song is very catchy and I love the feel of it.It was an amazing summer and this song brings me flashes of driving to Travis's house to play Champions with Steven.18."Daughters" by John Mayer-I'm gonna start by saying John Mayer is the man. He is a muscial idol of mine. This song won a grammy and is nothing but the sweetest, saddest, and simple song in the world.17."The Only Difference Between Martyrdom And Suicide Is Press Coverage" by Panic!at the Disco-The song tells you snap your fingers and tap your feet and you can't help but do so.The song is so catchy and easy to move to.It has some amazing lines, an epic feeling chorus, and a far out bridge.Besides these things it reminds of a certain person and certain time which is a nice feeling to have.16."Spiderwebs" by No Doubt.-This song reminds me of my brother Joe, being a tot, and being a 90's kid.A favorite since I was 5 years old.The chorus to this song will be answering machine one day, as corny as that may be.15."Your an Ocean" by Fastball-Sorry if you watched the video, Miley Cyrus is hot but her show isn't the most heterosexual thing on tv.This song comes off the soundtrack of the Disney movie Motocrossed. To this day that movie is one of my favorites and I have seen it at least 20 times. However, I haven't seen it a couple years so if you have it or know where to find it, let me know.14."Kelsey" by Metro Station-As I'm writing this I'm dancing because I'm listening to this song.It makes me sing, dance, and feel all warm inside everytime I hear it.There is nothing more sweet than writing a song for a girl and naming it after her.I guarantee that Mason Muso got some serious tail for writing this song. The song doesn't rea;;y have any abstract poetic lines it just says flat out "I love you, I need you, I would swim the ocean for you".There is a lot of emotion in the writing and performing of this song. And obviously the song remind me of one by greatest friends and the times we've had.13."Superman" by Goldfinger-How many hours did I play Tony Hawks Pro Skater One?Nobody will ever know. The game had the greatest soundtrack and this was the best on the game. This song brings me back to getting the secret tape over the half pipe in the warehouse.12."Rhythms" by Sum 41-One song off an amazing album. This song meant so many things to me as a 6th grader that I didn't quite understand. It was also part of the many songs that ushered in my love alternative punk rock.11."Everywhere" by Michelle Branch-If you knew me in the 5th and 6th grade and I thought I was just some skater punk you would be surprised if you asked me who my favorite artist was at the time.Yeah, Michelle Branch.C'mon, I had bleach blond hair. This is my favorite song from Michelle Branch despite what you may end up seeing on this countdown.Like that last song, it has a lot of feeling I could feel but not quite understand. The song has a good overall feeling and Michelle Branch is an amazing song writer.(And she is hella hot)"The top ten"So are you ready?Have you been shocked?Prepare to get more shocked unless you scrolled ahead already.Yeah I'm talking to you cheater.Lets recap and start again with number 10.24-Where does the good go by Tegan & Sara23-Run by Snow Patrol22-You give love a bad name by black lewis21-Don't Go Away by Oasis20-Im Shaken by Rooney19-Lets Go Home by Hot Rod Circuit18-Daughters by John Mayer17-The Only Difference by Panic!at the disco16-Spiderwebs by No Doubt15-Your an Ocean by Fastball14-Kelsey by Metro Station13-Superman by Goldfinger12-Rhythms by Sum 4111-Everywhere by Michelle Branch...........10."White Houses" by Vanessa Carlton-Yes Travis, Im sorry.I know you don't like this song.98% percent of the male population on the World probably don't.It is very girly and it is intended for girls. It is about a summer with some boy and losing her virginity. Her first love.If you replace a lot of the "hes" with "shes" I can feel that way with this song. The song is real and has lots of personal emotion and passion. On top of that it is very sweet and something I can sing along too. Finally, it reminds me of Jacky O, who to this day whether she would like to believe it or not, I consider one of the greatest people I have ever met.It reminds me off all the good times we had.9.Always You by Amber Pacific(ignore the anime)-Like a lot of the past songs it has a lot of personal passion you can feel from the band and it reminds me of an important person in my high school years and the tiems I had with them.On top of that I can't say much more besides that this song brings a lot of emotions and feeling I can't really explain. And other than mushy stuff I love how the song sounds and I can sing along very easily.8.Time to Waste by Alkaline Trio-This song could probably break the top five if it had some special meaning. However, I just love this song because it kicks ass.I love the chorus to this song.It has a feeling of "We went through some shit and you were crazy now its over I'm better because of it".I can't apply that feeling to anyone specific. The song has amazing transitions and a wickid piano intro. This is the ultimate "you fucked my friend and were over but its cool cause you were a slut anyway and IM FREE".Idk how I get all that but this song jut plain rules.7.Spokesman by Goldfinger-This song fuckin rules. What a message.I really love this song.I have probably listened to this song more than any other song in the world.I found this song on the soundtrack for Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 and liked it so much I went into options and turned off all the other songs on the soundtrack.SO for countless hours I listened to this song over and over and I still love it.To me its a perfect feel good, fuck the world, fuck the man, windows down, summer song.6.Splitting Games by Snow Patrol-MVP 2004 is the greatest baseball game ever made. What does that have to do with 6?It is on the soundtrack to the game.I LOVE that guitar riff and every line in the song. The song is very poetic and desperately sweet. Not just is a great song but it reminds me of MVP 2004 and ultimately baseball. To me, this song means basbeall."The top 5"Uh-Oh.The top five songs.Thats all I have to say about that...5.Chocolate by Snow Patrol-I couldn't tell you exactly why I love this song so much.It is catchy, sweet, simple, and poetic like most of the other songs. The song is about coming to a realization of who you are and how many questions there are to be asked while telling explaining to someone you've hurt you did what you had to do and you still love them.Or at least that is what I get. This is song is about realizing everything but still wanting to ask everything.Or at least thats what I get.I do feel that way about an incident in my life, to the point and this song helps me cope with it.This is an amzing song with a lot of meaning.4.Riot Girl by Good Charlotte-Did I ever have a riot girl? No. But I had a girl, my first girl and this song made me think of her. This song made me all warm inside n stuff and made me feel like a real hard ass despite being in the 6th grade and having bleach blond hair.I wish there was more I could say than I really loved this song and it helped with my transition from Michelle branch and N*sync to Alternative punk rock of the 90's.3.In Too Deep by Sum 41-I advise you watch the video if you haven't seen it.It is one of the best I have seen. You know that transition to alternative punk rock of the 90's I keep talking about? This song really lead that transition. If not for this song I could have been a completely different person. My continued love for N*sync could have lead to a love in R&B and eventually Rap.I could a severe wigger today, but thanks to this song, I'm not.No tot mention I love this song, a perfect slower but not quite slow alternative song.It does hold a little meaning to someone I have know but not much.2.Inside Out by Eve 6Eve 6 - Inside Out..-If you listened to the video, it sucks.I hate that version of the song which is the original.I do however LOVE LOVE LOVE the acoustic version they played for the end radio station.I have it on a CD if you would like to hear. The acoustic version is so much better.I honestly can't tell you exactly why I love this song.I have no deep meaning for this song it is just catchy and has a lot feeling to it.I don't even quite know what that feeling is though. However, I think I'm going through something right now that can help me understand those feelings."Number One"your not ready.are you?if you thought I was wuss so far..and if your scared of the sensitive side of me you've seenthen you might not want to scroll down much fartherbecausenumber one is..................................1.Goodbye to You by Michelle Branch-So there it is. Looks like Michelle Branch was more than just a middle school phase because I didn't find this song until the end of freshmen year.It is one of the more wussy songs on the list but I don't really care because it is even more mushy as to why I like the song.No song holds near to the same amount of emotions, feleings, and memories as any other song on this list.Everytime this song comes on I have to finish it and relive a very important very important part of my life.Besides all of that mushy stuff, I think it is a beautifully written song and this is one of the songs that is so good it doesn't matter how good of a song writer you are, you just goota get lucky to record something like this.Well there it is...The top 2424 to 1Goodnight."ktmjj" |
