| I went to the doctor.My chest x-ray didn?t show anything bad.The heart monitor that I had to wear...that test didn?t come back.It?s nothing to worry about though.I think I?m in good shape there.So, what?s the problem?Well, my cholesterol is rather high and I?m a borderline diabetic.I have to take two different pills now.One in the morning, one at night.I have to go back in two weeks for another check up.When I go back, we?ll work on my cigarette habit.I?ll get those pills that help me kick the habit before.I forget what they?re called.But, they worked.I went two weeks without a cigarette.I just didn?t take the pills for as long as I was supposed to.That?s why I didn?t quit.I?ve been smokin?a pack a day for the past 14 years or so.I think it?s about time to quit...especially since I got away with it for this long.So, until I go back to the doctor, I?ll try to cut down on my own a little.I can manage one every hour or so, which is a little better than chain smokin?, which is what I usually do.I also have to cut down on the coffee, which shouldn?t be much of a problem for me. I mean, I?ve been drinkin?less anyway...it just kind of happened.I wasn?t really trying or anything.I have no problem switching to decaf because, like I said before, it tastes the same to me and that?s why I drink coffee...for the taste.I?m not much of a juice or soda guy and water doesn?t really thrill me. So, that?s where I am right now.Now that I got all of that out of the way...I can focus on getting some other stuff done. |
| Now that I got all of that out of the way...I can focus on getting some other stuff done.Here?s two reviews that I had written for a column that I was workin?on.I?ll just post them here so you have something to check out today.One of them?s a free album.Can?t go wrong with that.I?d like to see more people do that.It?s a good way to get your music out there, that?s for sure.The Luminaries are kind enough to give you a FREE copy of their "You?re So Cold" EP.All you have to do is take the time to download it.There?s only six songs on this release, all of which are pretty cool.So, if you?re into power pop/punk music, be sure to check ?em out.My favorite track is "You?re So Cold," which is an upbeat, toe tappin?little ditty.I?m also rather fond of "From Outer Space To You," which is more punk than anything.I also like "Someone Else," which is kind of a mid-tempo song.I was tryin?to pick a stand out track.But, I couldn?t decide which one of those three I like the best.I like the other three tunes as well."Hiding" is probably my favorite from that batch.It?s a fun little EP that I?m sure you?ll enjoy...and since it?s a free download...there?s no reason why you can?t have a copy of it in your collection.http://theluminaries.blogspot.comhttp://www.the internet.com/waynebrainzIf Motorhead got drunk in the garage while listening to punk and/or hardcore music, it might sound a little something like The Problem.They seem to throw a bit ?o? metal into the mix and I also heard some speed/thrash groove in there.That?s what it sounded like to me. It?s almost like they took a little bit of everything from various musical styles that I happen to enjoy and the end result is a heavy, straight forward album that?s got more kick than a dozen mules...and...on top of that...it?s got a great sound.If you have some inner aggression that you need to get out of your system...turn this one up LOUD...it?ll do the trick.http://www.the internet.com/theproblem |
