Fun with Corneal abrasion |
| So
it is always wise to look before you roll (or is that leap?).??Last week I rolled over in bed without looking (how silly of me) and as I did, my arm thumped one of my dogs (who shall remain nameless) on the belly kinda hard.?This surprised her, as she was deep in sleep and caused her to kick with all her might (not to mention her back paw) and hit me right in the eye.?Now usually the body reacts for you and causes you to blink - but not me - oh no... not this week.?I took a back leg and at least 2 nails to the eye.???Usually silent from the tortures of pain I screamed quite a scream scaring everyone in earshot.?My eye hurt so bad I couldn?t even force it open for 12 hours, and after that I could only open it a little for a few minutes - and that was it for the day.? |
| My eye hurt so bad I couldn?t even force it open for 12 hours, and after that I could only open it a little for a few minutes - and that was it for the day.?As many of you may or may not know, I can only see out of one eye normally, so to be hit in the eye with a dog paw and be blinded in the other is just not how I wanted to spend my weekend.?I also went to see a new opthomologist as I figured Michigan was too far to go visit my old one.??Though the doctor ended up being nice enough, the nurses were talking behind our backs (cleverly sheilded behind a manila folder held up to their face - only superman could see through this impenetratible force), and treated me as if (and in fact asked me if) I was on drugs (something I don?t appreciate, as I have never done a single drug in my life).?I guess it is unusual to see someone in pain at a doctors office, and she just didn?t know what to do.?Anyway turns out those little nails tore my cornea.??For an idea of what this looks like take a look at:
