Fake outrage at Michelle Obama remarks |
| People are outraged by a remark Michelle Obama made recently on being "really" proud of her country for the first time in her adult life.The airwaves are abuzz with various opinions on what she intended to say."for the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country, because it feels like hope is making a comeback not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change."Now let's analyze what she has said, something a great many people are failing to do.1.?????"for the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country"Doesn't that seem to say that she is proud of her country already, but now it has increased?When someone says he is hungry, we understand it to mean that the person would like something to eat.If a person says he is "really hungry", the word "really" emphasizes the fact that this person must not have eaten in awhile and would like something immediately.2.?????"not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change."I can gather from the other half of this statement that Michelle Obama believed maybe people didn't seem to care about what was going on around them.They didn't vote.They didn't let they're voices be known on issues that affected them.But now she sees people are hungry for a change.They are coming out in large numbers to vote for their candidates.Americans are donating money in greater numbers over the internet and coming out in large numbers to participate in the political campaigns.I just cannot see where in her statement makes her hate America, as many people have stated.It is so tiring to see grown men and women act like children over the words people say.I'm tired of hearing someone needs to apologize for this or that.Anyway, who's running for president, Barack Obama or his wife?Grow up people. |
