| The hero of my WIP is from Paris, which was my brilliant idea because making him French would justify (to the IRS, hel-lo) an actual trip to Paris.?Audrey and I scheduled said Paris trip for the end of August, when my book was supposed to be nearly done.?According to my crafty plan, I would pretty much write the book and then add in whatever Frenchness was necessary after I'd laid eyes on a bunch of French men.You'd think I'd know better.?You'd think I'd realize that a man's nationality is such a huge part of him that I would have no clue how to write about a Frenchman until I'd spent some time observing a few.?The correct order should have been go to Paris and then write about my French hero.Because I ignored that logic, my Muse kept whapping me upside the head every time Marc (my sweetie in question) walked onstage.?The book sputtered and stalled.?All the pages I'd counted on writing before the trip didn't happen.?But now I'm back, and voila!?Marc is alive!?He walks, he talks, he kisses, he . . .well, that, too.?He is French, after all.I have to say, though, that my butt's in a serious sling considering the deadline is a month away.?Sacre bleu!?So if I don't answer your comments quickly, or maybe not at all, please forgive me.?I'm communing with Marc.Yours in deadline heaven, Vicki |
