AIDS WALK EVENT
Well the event was today and it went great!?I actually was able to donate about $116.00 to CARE RESOURCE.Unfortunately a lot of the walkers didn't have room in their shorts for their wallets!lol We took some pictures that unfortunately I don't have enough room on my computer at home to download, so I will have to wait to post them from the shop.I am totally exhausted, by the time the day was over I felt like I had hot knives stabbing me in the knees so I'm so thankful that once again Chef Andy ( A-Treat on my firends list) came through. He came to the shop last night and I got my second wind after I was redoing a lot of the work, since I was using the wrong "colored" ribbon and no one corrected me. lol He and the Bakery Troll ( who is now working nights and I never get to see anymore ...yay!!!lol) were running back and forth loading and unloading the car because when I got there I sat in those comfy chairs ( unbelievably comfortable, I was surprised..no hard chairs for us to sit on, very padded...mmmmmm nice!)my butt cheeks grabbed a hold of the chair and wouldn't let go!I also started to get a migraine because we were not really under tents, just of a selling cover.?white, really nice but because I had forgotten my sunglasses the glare was killing me. I also am sorry that I didn't get to walk around, but from where I was sitting I got to see straight through to the stage.?They had great music, a awesome DJ I gave myself time to be at the shop an hour earliar ( 6 am) so that if I was running late ( as is my usual...I run on "MARA" time...lol) I had a 60 minute window.?I ended up needed it.but we managed to get to the event around 8: 10 - 8:15 am.I went to the shop, finished the cupcake bouquet that is what I'm offering for the Dining Out for Life on May 1st...packed the car ( forgot my frames with my photos!?what can you do!)and went off to pick up Bakery Troll and called Chef Andy to meet us there.Andy was going to pick up BT but he got popped for speeding.?I felt Soooooo bad because I know that will be a big hit in the pocket; but he got there and we work so well together that I am sure hoping that he will decide to come worth WITH me..( we have some things up our sleeves and brewing!LOL) Steve Belko, Events Coordinator, Care Resource had asked me to deliver 2 cupcake bouquets to Jane Lynch, she plays a lawyer on "THE L WORD" ( here are some of her photos, used without permission.)Divorce lawyer Joyce Wischnia (Jane Lynch) brokers a tentative custody settlement between Bette and Tina in order to spare them a very lengthy, very public and very controversial court case.In "Eye of the Dolphin" So, he comes over and tells me that she loved the cupcakes!?That MY cupcakes made her stay!?What can I say??I'm ferklempt!I hope she actually got to eat one!lol ? Well, I'm going back to bed...it's been a long week with all that I've done and the 5 cakes I had to do in between all this work.I swear it takes balls of steel to be a Chef!?3 weeks of straight 10 to 12 hours days, with little sleep.?Knees that are SCREAMING..?I don't think that I am going to last another 2 years without having knee surgery ( what fun!)I really should try to drop some oh I don't know...20 - 50 pounds, lol It was a blast to volunteer and do some fundraising.?I can't wait to do it again, but if it's on the same weekend as the XXX show, well...next year...I'm doing that.tee hee.And if Chef Andy is around I'm taking him kicking and screaming in with me. lol By the way...Please send good vibes to A-Treat.?He had a lump on his head/skull that was biopsied, this past Thursday.?It turned out benign and they will be draining it next week.?It could've been soooo much worse, ya know??So please send him a positive thought, comment or even a Hi Ya!?He is such a great, hard working, wonderful young man.?I wish him great happiness and success in whatever he choses to do.Big hugs to Chef Andy!
