A new addition to our racing family |
| Congratulations are in order, we have had a new addition to our eclectic family.No, its not hilarie (I always spell that wrong so if I did it again, sorry) and Big Daddy Brian, although Congratulations to them as well.Its not Keith and Joyelle and their little bundle of joy, (Keith if I have to hear about what you ate the morning of her birth AGAIN I'm going to have to hurt you.)A warm congratulations to you as well.No no no, none of these are the newest addition.I'm proud to present our 2600 lb bouncing baby Mod.Mike (after several beers at the October fest in Newport) some how convinced Steve Sanford that it was in his best interest for us to race his mod at the World Series.So Mike, in his infinite wisdom calls me? and explains what has transpired, and asks if I would be up for one more big push before the end of the season.I was torn for a split second, I hate modifieds but I wasn't ready to be done with this season yet, so after an imperceptible pause I say, yeah lets do it. |
| I was torn for a split second, I hate modifieds but I wasn't ready to be done with this season yet, so after an imperceptible pause I say, yeah lets do it.I show up at the house the next morning bright and early to find out that the plans have changed, and there would be no more racing this year; because at the least Mike had to work.Greatly disappointed I sucked it up and went to check out this beauty queen.When we arrived at the garage where the car was stored ?(after a detour of going to the wrong garage and getting a Golden Retriever nose in my crotch) to find the rusted, dusty hulk of a racecar.After taking about an hour to examine it we headed back to make the to do list; which is longer?than the entire white board.I know it would be?possible to make this show, as?during previous race seasons we've had to do more, in less time.We now have the whole off season to put this Mod together and finish blue.All this work?is to run a few events where sunoco mods run, get Steve's Mod some exposure, and to see if Mike can kill me fielding two cars, and pitting them both.It should be fun. |
